Role Description

Form Energy is hiring an experienced professional to manage the development and execution of Form's global supply chain strategy for critical structural metal assemblies. This role reports to the Director of Global Supply Management (GSM). As part of our GSM team, you will be involved in researching markets, identifying and engaging with suppliers, developing and executing sourcing strategies, and managing key supplier relationships in collaboration with key cross-functional teams. What you'll do:
  • Own the structural metal weldments category at Form (with a focus on welded / fabricated structural metal assemblies), including commercial relationships and contracts within our supply base and the broader value chain
  • Collaborate closely with Form's Leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering and Strategic Supply teams to define and drive execution of Form's metal parts sourcing strategy
  • Negotiate and secure favorable commercial terms, including pricing, lead times, and risk provisions. Manage the full sourcing process, from supplier development through qualification, negotiation, and contracting. Drive continual cost reduction and cost avoidance
  • Monitor current category market conditions, evaluating supplier capacities and competitive landscapes, technology roadmaps and supply/demand challenges & opportunities
  • Ensure Form is working with best-in-class suppliers and mitigating risks by rigorously analyzing component and manufacturing costs, performing risk analyses, forecasting industry trends, and leveraging your own expertise in supply markets and production processes


What you'll bring:
  • A minimum of 6 years experience in strategic sourcing and/or category management within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Deep category experience (2+ years) in metal parts strategic sourcing, market/pricing mechanics, and manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment.
  • Experience in welded / fabricated structural metal assemblies including welding processes (MIG, TIG), fabrication methods (laser cutting, brake forming), and quality standards (AWS D1.1, GD&T, PPAP) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of commercial terms, contract structures, and IP concepts
  • Fact-based, detail-oriented, data-driven decision making along with strong analytical skills; ability to thrive in the face of ambiguity and make decisions based on partial information
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; an optimistic, high-energy "people person" with a strong desire to build collaborative relationships and make things happen
  • Ability to work both independently and collaborate cross-functionally on multiple tasks and projects; a team-player
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar discipline
  • Ability to work in the US and travel globally as necessary

This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV-an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
