Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Staff Geotechnical Professional to join our team in either:
- Raleigh, North Carolina
- Charlotte, North Carolina
The right candidate for this opportunity will be self-motivated and have 4-8 years of geotechnical engineering or geology experience.
In this position you will assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in execution of field investigation and potential
construction oversight. This position will also assist with review and compilation of geotechnical laboratory and field-testing results,
perform geotechnical analyses and report writing.
The responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to the following:
- Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance,
- coordination with drilling contractors, supervision of drilling and geotechnical field investigations, logging of borings and test pits.
- Assist with lab testing assignment, compilation of lab and field testing results.
- Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth
- retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
- Assist the Project Engineers/Managers and prepare geotechnical reports.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors
- This position will require 60% to 70% travel
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering, or Geology.
- MS Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus
