The Staff Engineer, Margin Acceleration is responsible for leading complex engineering and Margin Acceleration Program initiatives that deliver cost savings, operational improvements, and strategic business results. This role manages engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational requirements, and customer needs while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for Margin Acceleration Program cost-saving initiatives and complex engineering projects, ensuring project plans, milestones, and deliverables align with business and operational objectives.
- Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, regulatory, and operational requirements.
- Develop and manage project schedules, timelines, resource plans, and key project deliverables.
- Track, maintain, and update project documentation, schedules, risks, and status within project management systems (Wave).
- Conduct investigations into project non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop and manage capital and expense budgets and forecasts for assigned engineering projects.
- Define and execute product, component, equipment, and process validation activities to support operational integration and supply chain readiness.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while ensuring timely escalation of significant issues to leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering to ensure successful project execution.
- Ensure all projects comply with applicable quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers and technical team members.
- Support and enforce site safety, industrial hygiene, and compliance requirements across project activities.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives that drive cost savings, efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.

Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline).
- 6-8 years of engineering, manufacturing, project management, or operational excellence experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading complex engineering, manufacturing, capital, or operational improvement projects.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budget management, and risk mitigation.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Knowledge of validation processes, including equipment, process, product, and component validation.
- Experience managing capital and expense project budgets.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, engineering, quality, and operational processes.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience utilizing project management software and tools.
- Working knowledge of GMP, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced degree (MS or MBA) in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.
- Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Continuous Improvement certification.
- Experience supporting cost savings, margin improvement, or operational excellence programs.
- Knowledge of supply chain integration and manufacturing scale-up activities.
- Experience with capital equipment implementation and facility improvement projects.
- Exposure to new product introduction (NPI) and product lifecycle management activities.
- Experience mentoring engineers and technical teams.
- Advanced proficiency with data analysis, reporting, and project portfolio management tools.
- Experience with CAD design tools
- Experience with tolerance stack up analysis
- Experience with MS Project or equivalent software

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$94,000.00 - $151,800.00
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
