Are you ready to join our expanding team of talented electrical engineers? Our Water team is growing its footprint in the Mountain region, centered in Denver, CO. We are seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to execute design efforts for treatment plant expansions, pump station rehabilitation, greenfield projects, electrical equipment replacements, and SCADA upgrade projects. The engineer in this role will work with project managers, senior and staff electrical engineers, designers, drafters, estimators, and other engineering disciplines to ensure that project quality, budget, and schedule are met. This role also offers career growth opportunities for on electrical and/or I&C-specific projects as well as participating in projects utilizing various delivery methods to create world-class designs meeting our client's needs.
  • The Staff Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design and specification of electrical systems associated with municipal and industrial drinking and wastewater pumping facilities and treatment plants.
  • From conceptual phase through completion, the Staff Electrical Engineer will execute complex projects for the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and studies from inception to completion.
  • Electrical systems include low and medium-voltage power, lighting, SCADA and process controls, process instrumentation, voice/data networking, fiber optics, emergency power systems, UPS, security systems, CCTV, fire alarm, and commercial/industrial facility building systems.
  • Research and compile project related data, as required.
  • Apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.
  • Perform the following studies for water and wastewater treatment electrical and control systems: power supply studies, short-circuit studies, coordination studies, and arc flash studies.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients.
  • Provide construction administration support, including submittal review, procurement, response to Contractor's requests for information, review and approval of change orders, and development of record of construction documents.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams across multiple office locations.
  • Develop proposals and technical memorandums.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program, and 3 years of electrical engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of electrical engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design, ANSI and IEEE Standards. Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team-building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel.

Compensation

$125,000.00-175,000.00 Yearly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
