Work Flexibility: Hybrid or Onsite

As a Staff Electrical Engineer-PCB within our Orthopaedic Instruments R&D team, you won’t be designing concepts that may never reach patients. You’ll be improving and redesigning products that are already trusted by surgeons around the world. This is an opportunity to apply your electrical engineering expertise to enhance performance, reliability, manufacturability, and patient outcomes across a portfolio of established medical technologies. Working alongside cross-functional partners, you’ll tackle complex technical challenges, influence product evolution, and make a measurable impact on devices used every day in operating rooms.

What You Will Do

  • Design and develop electrical components and subsystems for medical devices, meeting performance and compliance standards.

  • Apply advanced circuit and system test methods to validate designs and ensure reliability.

  • Lead prototyping and testing efforts to evaluate design feasibility and performance.

  • Translate user needs into design inputs and specifications, ensuring alignment with clinical requirements.

  • Analyze and resolve complex design issues using data-driven approaches to improve processes and outcomes.

  • Collaborate across R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to drive project success.

  • Author and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files, in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Mentor team members on design controls, risk management, and industry standards.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience.

  • PCB/circuit design, electrical system testing and troubleshooting experience.

  • Ability to interpret and analyze system-level drawings and interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of design controls and regulatory compliance in a product development environment.

  • Experience designing for medical devices or other regulated industries.

  • Knowledge of common electrical component failure modes and mitigation strategies.

  • Familiarity with Voice of Customer (VoC) processes and clinical procedure inputs.

  • Understanding of system and environmental interactions in product design.

 

$89,300 - $148,800 USD Annual
