SUMMARY:This work entails all aspects of the design and development of state-of-the-art bulk acoustic wave (BAW) used in Defense, Aerospace, Satcom and Wireless Infrastructure applications. Acoustic BAW design involves product definition, feasibility, computer simulation, optimization, design for manufacturability, layout, and test characterization. The design of RF components in the range of 1GHz to 12GHz will be required for applications such as, Radar, Electronic Warfare, GPS, Space, Fixed Wireless, and other Defense or Wireless Infrastructure applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- To design BAW devices employing a variety of design techniques, including ladder filters, coupled-resonator (CRF), and hybrid filters.
- To perform acoustic and electromagnetic (EM) simulations using not only commercially available tools but also Qorvo's state-of-the-art internally developed tools.
- To layout devices and generate photomask sets.
- To perform device characterization and diagnostics using the latest RF/Microwave test equipment.
- To work in a team by contributing one's RF skills to integrated module designs.
- To continuously improve design flow, cycle time, and schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:- PhD or master's degree in electrical engineering or physics with focus on RF is preferred. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or physics with an additional 3 years design experience is required.
- Experience with schematic design, RF and EM simulation, and design layout is preferred.
- 3+ years direct experience in acoustic design (BAW or SAW) is preferred.
- Knowledge of AWR-Microwave Office and HFSS design tools is preferred.
- Understanding of microelectronic fabrication and high-volume manufacturing is preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Self-driven, highly motivated and high energy.
- Proven track-record with self-owned projects.
JOB LOCATION:- This position is located in Apopka, Florida.
