Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a highly motivated FP&A Staff Analyst to support financial operations for the engineering and R&D organization.This role reports into our Director of Corporate FP&A. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys partnering closely with technical organizations and influencing decision-making through data-driven insights. You will operate with significant autonomy while partnering directly with Engineering and R&D leadership. What you'll do:
  • Develop department budgets (expense & capital investments), monitor, and analyze actual spending against budget; report on actual performance and key performance indicators to support business decisions
  • Gather, review, analyze and report spending data
  • Drive the budget development process, particularly with the quantification of the program plan. Lead budget review meetings with business partners and engineering leadership
  • Drive reporting, process, and discipline for finance routines to shape and influence decision-making (e.g. annual budget, quarterly forecast, monthly reviews, long-range plans)
  • Support internal controls (examples: purchase request approvals, monthly accruals, budget versus actual reviews, regular risk assessment)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, such as Finance Systems and Finance Business Intelligence to develop reporting dashboards
  • Drive continuous process improvement, standardization, simplification, and reporting enhancements
  • Maintain high standards of financial accuracy, documentation, and operational rigor
What you'll bring:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Corporate Finance
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Deep understanding of expense accounting principles including accruals, amortization, and capitalization
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, challenge existing processes, and drive continuous improvement
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
