Full Job Description
We're building AI agents that automate complex semiconductor engineering workflows. We're looking for a Staff Engineer with strong technical fundamentals, semiconductor domain knowledge, and AI/ML understanding to help shape both the agents and the platform that powers them.
This role is for someone who understands the problems before reaching for solutions. You'll design agentic systems that reason, plan, and use tools to solve real problems - then build the infrastructure to deploy them reliably at scale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and build AI agents that automate multi-step semiconductor workflows
- Develop the Agent Platform: orchestration, tool integration, observability, and evaluation infrastructure
- Work closely with design and verification engineers to deeply understand pain points and identify high-impact automation opportunities
- Create techniques for grounding agents in domain knowledge - specifications, design rules, verification intent
- Build rigorous evaluation frameworks that measure agent reliability, correctness, and safety
- Debug hard problems across the stack - from model behavior to infrastructure to domain-specific edge cases
- Ship systems that work reliably, not just impressive demos
Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of industry experience
- Experience in or familiarity with semiconductor or EDA: RTL design, verification, physical design, or EDA tool development
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML: how models work, training, and evaluation
- Strong programming skills and ability to build robust, production-quality systems
- Systems thinking - you can reason about complex problems and diagnose subtle issues
- Clear communication skills - you can bridge the gap between different technical domains
Preferred:
- PhD in EE, CE, CS, or related field
- Deep expertise in specific semiconductor domains: verification methodologies, synthesis, timing closure, DFT
- Deep expertise in AI/ML: model architectures, NLP, or reinforcement learning
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG architectures, or agentic systems
- Experience with EDA tool internals or automation scripting
- Publications or significant projects in semiconductor or AI/ML
Based on our experience, we anticipate that the application deadline will be **06/12/2026** (3 months from posting), although we reserve the right to close the application process sooner if we hire an applicant for this position before the application deadline. If we are not able to hire someone from this role before the application deadline, we will update this posting with a new anticipated application deadline.
