Staff Accountant - Full-Time Onsite

Job Overview

Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Buena Park, California

Type: Full-Time Onsite

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000 (based on education and experience)

Job Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in executing day-to-day financial operations and ad hoc projects. Working closely with finance leadership, this role manages full-cycle Fixed Asset Management, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, coordinates multi-entity Intercompany Transactions, and supports the Month-End Close process in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Month-End Close: Collaboratively execute the month-end close schedule alongside the accounting team to generate timely financial statements. Prepare and post journal entries, manage standard accruals, and perform initial reviews to explain budget-to-actual variances.
  • Intercompany Transactions & Reconciliations: Record and reconcile monthly intercompany transactions, cross-charges, and balancing entries across multiple subsidiaries or business units.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform the monthly reconciliation process for major balance sheet accounts (including inventory and bank reconciliations). Research sub-ledger variances, identify root causes, and propose correcting journal entries for management review.
  • Fixed Asset Tracking: Manage the fixed asset lifecycle for manufacturing equipment, tooling, facilities, and technology. Track Work-in-Progress (CIP), capitalize new assets, and process asset disposals or transfers.
  • AP & AR Support: Provide transactional and escalation support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Assist in maintaining the integrity of three-way matching workflows for inventory, vendor payments, and customer cash applications.
  • Inventory & Cost Accounting Reporting: Track and report on the costs of raw materials, components, and work-in-process (WIP). Calculate inventory variances, prepare valuation reports, and assist with physical inventory counts and year-end reconciliations.


Basic Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required).
  • Experience: 3 to 4+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience. Hands-on experience with intercompany accounting, fixed assets, or full balance sheet reconciliations is required. Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment is highly valued.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, data modeling, and troubleshooting complex spreadsheets).
    • Hands-on experience or familiarity with the Infor SyteLine ERP system is highly preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset ready to work across engineering, production, and corporate finance teams
