About the Role

We are seeking a Senior or Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This individual will play a key role in our monthly and quarterly close processes, financial reporting, and accounting operations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in financial services or fintech environments, a strong command of loan accounting standards, and a detail-oriented approach to complex accounting matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute multiple monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles end to end, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries; perform account reconciliations and flux analyses across all major balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Own and maintain NetSuite reporting, including building custom reports, saved searches, and dashboards to support finance and leadership stakeholders.
  • Apply loan accounting standards including deferred fees and cost recognition (ASC 310-20) and transfers of financial assets (ASC 860).
  • Support CECL (Current Expected Credit Loss) reserve calculations, model inputs, and related disclosures under ASC 326.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Data, Risk, and Engineering teams to ensure accounting systems accurately reflect business activity.
  • Assist with external audit requests, internal controls documentation, and regulatory reporting as needed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including public accounting.
  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA licensure (must be on track).
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple close cycles (monthly, quarterly, annual) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite ERP, including reporting, saved searches, and general ledger operations.
  • Direct experience in financial services, fintech, or banking environments.
  • Working knowledge of CECL (ASC 326) methodology, including reserve estimation and documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with loan accounting, including deferred fees and cost recognition under ASC 310-20.
  • Familiarity with accounting for transfers of financial assets under ASC 860.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex accounting issues clearly.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Rippling for HR, payroll, and benefits accounting and reconciliation.
  • Experience with Zip for procurement and spend management workflows.
  • Big 4 or national firm audit experience with financial services clients.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition under ASC 606.
