Full Job Description
The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to our Water team based in Denver, Colorado. This role provides an opportunity to serve as a technical leader on complex municipal wastewater projects while mentoring staff and supporting project delivery across planning, design, and construction phases.

Position Summary:
The Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer serves as a technical lead on municipal wastewater projects, providing engineering review, oversight, and mentorship while ensuring quality, compliance, and cost-effective project execution.

Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
• Serve as Senior Engineer on a wide variety of municipal wastewater projects.
• Review conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses.
• Review detailed engineering reports and supporting documents.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on reports and design projects.
• Develop and review engineering interpretations of specifications and drawings and recommend design modifications.
• Resolve technical questions and plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to staff engineers.
• Provide construction support services, including field meetings, submittal reviews, shop drawing reviews, and RFIs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering with a focus on water/wastewater.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience with water and wastewater treatment projects.
• Experience with jurisdictional and regulatory permitting.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Design experience with pipe materials, valves, and pumps.
• Experience with hydraulic system calculations, pump stations, pressure pipelines, storm and sanitary sewer pipelines, and water/wastewater treatment plants.
• Previous experience in business development.
• Active membership and participation in professional organizations such as RMWEA or RMSAWWA.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform office-based engineering work with occasional site visits to active construction or treatment facilities.
• Ability to sit, stand, and move between office and field environments for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting of light materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
• Combination of office, client, and field environments.
• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions during site visits.
• Moderate noise levels when visiting construction or treatment facilities.
• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Additional Information:
• Employment Type: Full-time.
• Work Location: Hybrid within the Denver, Colorado area.
• Travel Requirements: Occasional local or regional travel for meetings and site visits.

Compensation Range:
$130,000.00 to $200,000.00 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
