Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Developer to join our team and contribute to developing innovative software programs that support activities for LMI's Army Market. This role uniquely blends front-end development expertise with data science capabilities, focusing on creating efficient, scalable applications that transform data insights into compelling user experiences. This position offers an opportunity to provide technical leadership while strategically growing the development footprint with the customer. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment and be self-directed, collaborative, and eager to grow technically.

This position is part of the team supporting the Army HQDA G-4 ELISS program, delivering innovative solutions that enable critical Army logistics and sustainment missions. This position is onsite at least 3 days/week on the customer site in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Support front-end development efforts with a focus on data visualization and analytics-driven user interfaces
  • Develop, update, and maintain front-end code for web applications that surface data science insights and predictive analytics
  • Write, design, and implement efficient, reusable, and reliable code using HTML5, JavaScript, Python, and R
  • Integrate UI/UX designs into user-friendly interfaces and web app front-ends using React.js, with emphasis on interactive data visualizations
  • Bridge the gap between data science outputs and user-facing applications, translating complex analytical results into intuitive interfaces
  • Lead the integration of AI/ML capabilities into applications, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging AI technologies
  • Champion AI-forward development practices and guide the team in implementing AI/ML features and data-driven experiences
  • Provide technical expertise and support the team's capabilities at the intersection of front-end development and data science
  • Lead architecture discussions and provide strategic guidance on technology adoption, data integration, and visualization strategies
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand development initiatives with Army stakeholders
  • Collaborate effectively with data scientists, UX designers, and software developers using Git, participating in code reviews and adopting Agile methodologies
  • Engage with Army managers and representatives in a consultative capacity to identify software needs, explore innovative data-driven solutions including AI applications, and build strategic relationships that expand our development footprint
  • Comfortable working independently and as a member of a team, with demonstrated ability to work in strategic and consultant-oriented environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence strategic decisions


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in front-end development with exposure to data science workflows and analytics
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry platform for data integration and application development
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and data visualization libraries (D3.js, Plotly, Recharts, or similar)
  • Experience with React.js and building interactive, data-driven user interfaces
  • Experience with Python for data manipulation and analysis (pandas, numpy, or similar)
  • Familiarity with R and Shiny for statistical computing and interactive applications is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, analyzing, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software applications for an enterprise-level system
  • Familiarity with Git, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and automated deployments
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, technical mentorship, or client relationship management
  • Active Secret Clearance required

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into web applications and identifying strategic AI use cases
  • Familiarity with AI frameworks and APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, LangChain, or similar)
  • Experience with advanced data visualization techniques and dashboarding tools
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning concepts
  • Experience with Storybook for component development, documentation, and design system management
  • Hands-on deployment experience across multiple environments and platforms
  • Experience developing applications for classified data
  • Experience integrating machine learning and analytical tools into production applications
  • Knowledge of the Army software development process and its technologies
  • Background working in strategic planning or consultant environments supporting government or DoD clients
  • Proven track record of expanding technical scope or footprint with government customers
  • 3+ years of directly related experience
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

The target salary range for this position is $112,000-$190,000.

The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
