Senior Training Specialist

Location: Carlisle, PA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - up to 2 days per week remote
Travel: 10-15%

What You'll Do

Enterprise Learning & Onboarding

  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and ongoing management of an enterprise-wide onboarding program that creates a consistent and engaging experience for new hires across all divisions and functions.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR teams to develop onboarding resources, coordinate learning activities, and facilitate new hire orientation programs.
  • Analyze organizational and training needs to develop new programs or enhance existing learning solutions.
  • Arrange and promote technical, professional, leadership, and other development opportunities across the organization.

Training Design & Delivery

  • Design and develop training programs using a variety of delivery methods, including classroom training, e-learning, virtual workshops, and on-the-job training.
  • Lead classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions, including coordinating schedules, logistics, materials, and participants.
  • Develop engaging learning materials, including presentations, facilitator guides, participant guides, outlines, handouts, and other resources.
  • Utilize e-learning development tools, including Articulate, to create effective digital learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, trainers, and business stakeholders to ensure learning content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with business needs.
  • Evaluate training materials and programs developed by other instructors and provide feedback to improve effectiveness.
  • Conduct workshop observations for new instructors and provide coaching and feedback to support effective training delivery.

Business Partnership & Consulting

  • Build strong relationships with leaders, hiring managers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
  • Coach stakeholders to identify the right solution for their learning and development needs rather than defaulting to training as the answer.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through data, feedback, and learner insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support organizational change initiatives through effective communication, learning solutions, and stakeholder partnership.

Vendor & Program Management

  • Manage relationships with external training vendors, including sourcing, contracting, coordinating, and evaluating vendor performance and quality.
  • Review and curate the OpenSesame content library to ensure course offerings remain current, relevant, and aligned with organizational and employee development needs.
  • Coordinate external training programs, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
  • Administer the Education Assistance Program, providing support and guidance to employees pursuing continuing education and professional certifications.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to improve training programs, processes, delivery methods, and learner experiences.
  • Use data, feedback, technology, and emerging learning practices to continuously improve learning solutions.
  • Bring innovative thinking to the development and delivery of learning programs.
  • Stay current on trends, technologies, and best practices in learning and development.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Training & Development, Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience developing, delivering, and managing training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and leading enterprise-wide learning, onboarding, or development initiatives.
  • Experience managing external training vendors and/or learning resources is preferred.
  • Experience with e-learning development and learning technologies is preferred.
  • Experience supporting continuing education, professional certification, or employee development programs is a plus.
