About the Role

The Total Rewards Partner - Mexico is an individual contributor for Uber Freight's Mexico population. The role is responsible for the design, administration, governance, communication, and continuous improvement of compensation and benefit programs. This position has no direct people-management responsibility and operates as a strategic and hands-on subject matter expert, partnering closely with EET, Payroll, Finance, HRIS, Legal, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to ensure programs are competitive, compliant, financially sustainable, and operationally executable. This position combines program strategy with day-to-day execution. The successful candidate must be comfortable independently owning workstreams and moving between employee-level issue resolution, data analysis, vendor management, annual compensation processes, executive recommendations, policy design, system implementation, and cross-functional project leadership. Success depends on subject-matter expertise, judgment, influence, and the ability to drive outcomes through stakeholders rather than through direct reports.

What the Candidate Will Do

Compensation Management
  • Own compensation administration for Mexico, including salary structures, job levels, market positioning, internal equity, and compensation governance.
  • Analyze employee pay using salary ranges, compa-ratios, market data, internal comparisons, and business context; identify outliers and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and People leaders on new-hire offers, promotions, transfers, retention actions, and other compensation decisions.

Benefits Strategy & Administration
  • Own the Mexico benefits portfolio and act as the primary subject matter expert for employee benefit programs.
  • Drive benefit design reviews and recommendations, including competitiveness assessments, cost modeling, employee impact, implementation sequencing, and communication strategy.
  • Oversee medical, life, accident, meal/gas, savings, transportation/car-related, wellness, and other local benefit programs as applicable.

HRIS, Systems & Process Governance
  • Represent Mexico Total Rewards in HR technology initiatives, including Core HR, Benefits, Absence, Compensation, Time & Labor, and Payroll-related implementations.
  • Define business requirements, review configurations, participate in testing/UAT, identify defects, and validate readiness before go-live.

Basic Qualifications

  • This role is designed as an individual contributor position with no direct reports; demonstrated ability to lead through expertise, project ownership, and cross-functional influence is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, Industrial Relations or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR / Total Rewards experience, with significant hands-on exposure to benefits and compensation administration in Mexico.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting a complex employee population and multiple legal entities, business units, or locations.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexico benefits practices and working knowledge of compensation fundamentals such as salary ranges, market positioning, comparatio, merit, promotions, and internal equity.
  • Experience partnering effectively with Payroll, Finance, HRIS, Legal and senior business leaders in an individual contributor or subject-matter-expert capacity.
  • Experience managing vendors, renewals, audits, implementations, or large cross functional HR projects.
  • Advanced analytical capability and strong Excel skills; comfortable working with employee-level data, budgets, cost models, and reconciliations.
  • Experience with enterprise HR systems such as Oracle, Workday, SAP, TRESS, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced English required.
