Full Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Hydraulic Technician Team Lead for subsea equipment and tooling to join our dynamic team at our Offshore Delivery workshop located in Houston, TX. This is a shore-based position offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge equipment in a collaborative and safety-focused environment. What will you be doing? • Lead and supervise the Mechanical Hydraulic Workshop team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all maintenance and repair activities. • Provide reliable, fit-for-purpose subsea equipment and tooling to internal and external customers within agreed timelines. • Conduct and oversee inspections, maintenance, repairs, and acceptance testing of subsea equipment to ensure compliance with operational, technical, and customer requirements. • Execute planned maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules and procedures. • Identify, source, and manage spare parts inventory to support maintenance activities and minimize equipment downtime. • Maintain accurate equipment records, maintenance reports, and service documentation using Workshop Request software and SAP. • Ensure compliance with workshop processes, procedures, and management systems governing equipment servicing, repair, testing, and technical assurance. • Coordinate workshop resources and priorities to support on-time, cost-effective equipment delivery. • Collaborate with cross-functional workshop teams to support integrated operational objectives. • Monitor equipment status, utilization, and availability, providing timely updates to the Workshop Manager, administration team, and key stakeholders. • Maintain workshop facilities and work areas to a high standard, ensuring a safe, organized, and efficient working environment. • Support budget management by monitoring departmental expenditures, equipment utilization, and opportunities for cost savings. • Assist the Workshop Manager in reviewing and improving departmental processes, identifying efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives. • Identify and coordinate third-party contractor support requirements during peak workloads or planned absences. • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, evaluating new products, technologies, and working methods that deliver operational, technical, or commercial benefits. • Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all workshop equipment and associated services. • Maintain regular communication with internal customers regarding equipment readiness, status, and availability. What experience would we like you to have? Qualifications and Education • Desirable nationally recognized qualification or similar trade qualification in Mechanical/Hydraulic Engineering. • Desirable mechanical or hydraulic academic qualification. Skills • Must be capable of organizing, supervising, and motivating a team to deliver quality, fit-for-purpose equipment on time and within budget. • Strong understanding and comprehensive working knowledge of equipment utilized in offshore operations. • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard business applications. • Ability to adapt to a varied workload, work flexibly, and perform effectively both independently and as part of a team. • Experience with SAP is desirable. Experience • Knowledge and understanding of offshore compliance standards is desirable. • Minimum of 5 years of Mechanical/Hydraulic experience within the subsea industry is required. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure effective delivery of project and operational demands within budget.
