Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery & Execution
Lead cross-functional, small-to-medium scale technical projects and/or workstreams within broader programs
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, dependencies, risks, and budgets
Ensure alignment with quality, compliance, validation, and regulatory requirements
Track execution progress and escalate risks/issues appropriately
Stakeholder Management
Partner with R&D business and IT stakeholders to ensure clear alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables
Provide clear and consistent project updates to stakeholders
Support decision-making by identifying risks, trade-offs, and mitigation options
Delivery & Methodology
Apply PMP-aligned practices across planning, execution, and monitoring
Leverage Agile and Waterfall methodologies, tailoring approach based on project needs
Contribute to adoption of standard tools, templates, and governance practices
AI-Enabled Delivery
Utilize AI tools and automation (where available) to enhance project tracking, reporting, and risk identification
Support adoption of data-driven insights to improve delivery predictability
Financial & Vendor Coordination
Team Contribution
Technical & Business Skills
Leadership & Communication
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work across teams and manage competing priorities
Comfortable presenting updates to stakeholders and mid-level leadership
Ability to translate business needs into project plans and deliverables
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years' Experience
Masters' Degree and Six Years' Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP certification
Familiarity with Agile (Scrum) & Waterfall methodologies
6+ years relevant project management experience
3+ years of technical project management experience in a cross-functional environment
Experience supporting projects in regulated (GxP) environments preferred

The salary range for this position is:
Bay Area: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00.
Raleigh: $146,200.00 - $189,200.00.
Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
