Job Summary
Fishbeck is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to join our growing Architectural Department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading the technical development of medium to large scale projects. This position includes the opportunity to get involved with a variety of project types, with a focus on the higher education, healthcare civic and municipal.
Primary Functions
• Assist the Project Manager in developing project work plans and schedules.
• Collaborate with the design team during programming and conceptual phases.
• Lead the technical team in preparing design development and construction documents.
• Coordinate with in-house engineers and outside consultants.
• Develop architectural technical specifications.
• Lead construction administration effort including observation, RFI and submittal review.
• Serve as project manager on small to medium projects if required.
• Assist with departmental duties such as QAQC reviews, maintaining technical standards and mentoring of junior architectural staff.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Mobility to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, visual acuity to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Desired Education
Master of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture Degree from an accredited university.
Desired Skills/ Experience
• 15+ years of experience, preferred.
• Licensure preferred.
• Experienced in developing projects using Revit.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and BSD Spec Link is a bonus.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
• Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
• Ability to work well with others under demanding deadline situations.

Overview
Fishbeck is seeking experienced Architecture professionals with a strong background in project
leadership, client engagement, and team development. This individual will lead complex
architectural projects while mentoring junior staff and helping grow long-term client
relationships.
Required Qualifications
• Approximately 12-15 years of experience in architecture, project management, or
technical architecture.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams from design through
completion.
• Previous client-facing consulting experience with the ability to manage complex
stakeholder relationships.
• Experience delivering projects within Higher Education, Healthcare, Commercial, or
other institutional markets.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, design coordination, and architectural
documentation.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related discipline.
• Design portfolio required for all architecture-focused candidates.
Preferred Skills
• Proven ability to mentor and develop junior architects and designers.
• Experience identifying additional business opportunities within existing client
relationships.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to remain composed while managing challenging clients and competing project
priorities.
• Collaborative leadership style with a team-first mindset.
