ResponsibilitiesSabre Systems is currently recruiting for an
Aviation Ship Integration (A/SI) Systems Engineer (Senior), to support the Aviation/Ship Integration OfficeThis candidate engineer will help design the future of naval power at the critical intersection of aviation and shipboard technology. The Aviation Ship Integration Systems Engineer will serve as essential support to the ASI Systems Engineers who are bridging the gap between Air and Ship Program Offices, spearheading the full-lifecycle integration of advanced ship and air systems within naval aviation's unique operating environment. In this high-impact, multi-disciplinary role, lead technical work planning, define team structures, manage system requirements and risk, and track performance to deliver balanced, cost-effective, and mission-ready total systems.
The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Coordinates with O-6/GS-15 level Program Managers, Type Commanders, and SYSCOMs for effective integration of aviation capability, including type/model/series aircraft and aviation systems in U.S. Navy ships
- Collaborate across a broad spectrum of scientific and engineering disciplines and coordinate across the activities at NAWCAD Lakehurst and NAVSEA.
- Knowledge of NAVAIR certification processes for aviation facilities and shipboard installed aviation systems, as well as knowledge of in-service ship modernization processes and shipyard procedures
- Provide aviation subject matter expertise to coordinate with NAVAIR and NAVSEA Technical Authority in the functional areas of:
- Flight Deck facilities including Visual Landing Aids (VLA), aircraft fueling
- Aviation weapons and shipboard weapons facilities
- Aviation and ordnance support equipment
- Shipboard aviation fire fighting
- Shipboard hangar deck arrangement
- Shipboard aviation workspace arrangements
- Precision Approach and Landing Systems (PALS)
- Ship installed aviation warfare systems
- Aviation footprint analysis and optimization
- Aircraft/ship compatibility and footprint
- Performs programmatic or technical leadership roles in an organization identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems
- Guiding the engineering development of modern complex systems
- Employing systems engineering methods and tools in the development of advanced complex systems
- When appropriate, conduct research in applied systems engineering to advance the field.
QualificationsMust have a Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university
ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience
- Must have at least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the area of engineering expertise is required.
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
- Must be a US Citizen
Compensation StatementAt Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $148,330.00 - $164,420.00
