About the roleAt Scout Motors, we're carrying forward the heritage of one of the most iconic American vehicles in history-reimagining the rugged SUV and the all-electric pickup truck for a new generation. Building these vehicles takes a world-class IT organization, and our Infrastructure & Support team is the backbone that keeps Scout's people, systems, and production environments running.
As a Senior Systems Administrator, you'll be a senior technical owner of our enterprise infrastructure across compute, storage, identity, and cloud. You'll lead complex incident and problem resolution, champion automation, and ensure the availability, performance, and security of the systems Scout depends on every day.
What you'll doBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure across compute, storage, identity, and cloud platforms.
- Act as a senior subject matter expert for core infrastructure services, supporting availability, performance, monitoring, and operational readiness of production systems.
- Lead Tier-3 incident resolution and root-cause analysis, recommending and executing sustainable corrective actions.
- Champion a culture of automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to reduce manual errors, accelerate deployments, and strengthen infrastructure security.
- Administer Azure, Power Platform, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, and other Microsoft cloud services, including the setup, maintenance, and monitoring of Azure-based resources, databases, and applications.
- Partner with the Security team to ensure smooth, secure inter-departmental operations.
- Support and execute network-related tasks as needed to maintain reliable IT operations.
- Author and maintain standard operating procedures and other critical IT documentation.
- Mentor systems administrators and serve as a senior escalation point for the broader infrastructure and service desk teams.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time..

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in storage solutions, virtualization, system design, deployment, and administration.
- Proven ownership of complex infrastructure environments across compute, storage, networking, and virtualization.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms-particularly Azure.
- Deep understanding of Windows and/or Linux server administration.
- Solid knowledge of identity and access management and enterprise authentication systems.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to mentor and guide other team members.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

Pay TransparencyThis is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $120,000.00 - $145,000.00
