Overview

The Sr Systems Engineer assist the Government with program planning activities to include, but not limited to generation and maintenance of the project plan, work breakdown structure, integrated master schedule, budget, program metrics, risk management, acquisition approach, execution plan, coordination with stakeholders, and S&T transition plan.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Government with program planning activities to include, but not limited to generation and maintenance of the project plan, work breakdown structure, integrated master schedule, budget, program metrics, risk management, acquisition approach, execution plan, coordination with stakeholders, and S&T transition plan
  • Plan, conduct, and execute a review for all contract activities quarterly. The review is anticipated to be held virtually or at Ft. Eustis, VA in conjunction with other planned meetings.
  • Prepare and provide a monthly Performance and Cost report for all activities
  • Coordinate technical activities and personnel to ensure coverage of key tasks and meetings.
  • Provide day-to-day support in managing ongoing program operations, tracking and reporting program execution status
  • Assist with coordination, meetings and exchange of technical information with other S&T/Reimbursable programs, customers, Contractors and other external stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing program briefs and program plans.
  • Coordinate meetings with multiple participants to include physical spaces, virtual connections, and teleconference lines.
  • Oversee performance management program for all project staff – mentor team leads and set quantifiable goals for employees
  • Assist in identifying inefficiencies, mapping current workflows, proposing improvements, and monitoring process performance.
  • Responsible for the quality of all work, ensuring it complies with the terms of the contract prior to submission for Government acceptance. This acceptance is based on conformance to the performance objectives, timeliness, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and requirements as specified in the contract.
  • Anticipate customer needs, propose innovative solutions, and align program outcomes with mission priorities. Propose ideas for on-contract growth.
  • Serve as the primary client relationship manager within the program office
  • Support capture, proposal, and business development activities related to follow-on and adjacent Client opportunities.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Advanced degree in a technical or engineering field with 20 years of Systems Engineering experience related to avionics architectures
  • Experience leading a team to implement architectural approaches for development of large complex avionics systems
  • Experience leading a team to develop, use, and improve avionics architecture standards
  • Senior level experience and be well versed in Information Technology practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project in addition to other planning tools
  • Secret Security Clearance
