Full Job Description
Amazon Heavy & Bulky Logistics (AMXL) is seeking a data-driven, analytically strong Senior Supply Chain Manager to own network placement optimization for our inbound strategy function. In this role, you will develop and execute strategies that improve how inventory is allocated across the AMXL fulfillment network, driving placement decisions that reduce cost-to-serve, improve CX, and improve profitability.

You will own the end-to-end placement optimization lifecycle: identifying opportunities through data analysis, building models to evaluate placement scenarios, partnering with technology teams to translate insights into system logic, and measuring outcomes against key operational and financial metrics. You will work closely with demand planning, transportation, fulfillment operations, and inventory management teams to ensure placement strategies are aligned with network capacity, customer promise, and profitability goals.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role that requires comfort with ambiguity, strong SQL and analytical skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional partners without direct authority. The ideal candidate can translate complex supply chain problems into structured frameworks, operate independently in a fast-paced environment, and deliver measurable improvements at scale.

Key job responsibilities

- Own the strategy and execution of network placement optimization for AMXL inbound inventory, balancing delivery speed, cost efficiency, and capacity constraints

- Analyze large datasets using SQL and Excel to identify placement defects, quantify opportunity size, and evaluate scenario tradeoffs

- Develop and maintain placement models and frameworks that inform where inventory should be positioned across the network

- Partner with technology, operations, and planning teams to translate analytical findings into scalable system and process improvements

- Define and track KPIs for placement health, measuring impact on transportation cost, fulfillment efficiency, and customer experience

- Drive cross-functional alignment on placement priorities, communicating insights and recommendations to senior leadership

- Document methodologies, assumptions, and decision logic to ensure continuity and reproducibility across the team
