Full Job Description
The Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist supports the business by leading procurement efforts in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. This role requires someone who can think strategically, act proactively, and work independently while collaborating across departments to influence others, drive change, and deliver results that support the company's rapid evolution.

Responsibilities include:
• Review, approve, and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders for goods and services across assigned dealerships, ensuring alignment with Sonic Automotive's procurement policies.
• Serve as the main point of contact between vendors and dealerships: track order status, troubleshoot issues, and support procurement processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with national suppliers to improve value, monitor performance, and resolve service issues.
• Act as the primary procurement contact for assigned internal business units.
• Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supply chain efficiency.
• Review contract terms to identify when legal involvement may be needed and escalate to Strategic Sourcing leadership as appropriate.
• Manage all phases of basic RFx processes, including RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs.
• Assist Strategic Sourcing Managers with vendor communications and follow-up.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; concentration in Supply Chain Management preferred
• 2-4 years of experience in indirect services procurement
• Solid understanding of core procurement principles and processes
• Familiarity with basic contract terms and conditions
• Proven self-starter with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent planning, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Confident communicator, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leaders
• Comfortable interacting with internal and external senior leaders
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing sight of individual details
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• CPSM or similar certification
• Procure to Pay system experience (Coupa or similar)
