Job Title: Sr. Staff Accountant

Responsibilities- Prepare and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and detailed account analyses.
- Perform year-over-year variance analysis, investigate significant changes, and communicate findings.
- Review general ledger activity to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger, including depreciation schedules and capital project activity.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and well documented.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows.
- Maintain prepaid expense schedules and ensure expenses are properly amortized and allocated.
- Prepare and support required federal, state, and local regulatory reporting.
- Serve as a primary accounting contact during external audits, preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Review and/or process ACH and wire transactions while following internal controls.
- Look for opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen accuracy.
- Partner with other departments to understand financial activity and resolve accounting questions.
- Assist the Controller with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as needed.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting principles.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and fixed assets.
- Advanced or strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently.
- Clear, professional communication skills.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Preferred Experience: CPA or actively pursuing CPA, experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
