JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

This position will work out of our Livermore, CA location in the Abbott Heart Failure, Acelis Connected Health business. Our Heart Failure solutions are helping address some of the World's greatest healthcare challenges.

As the Senior Supplier Quality Specialist, you are responsible for managing the Supplier Quality system. In this role, you will ensure our current processes remain in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Manages development of supplied product inspection procedures and first article requirements.
  • Notifies suppliers of customer complaints related to failures resulting from supplied material and require investigation and corrective action.
  • Assesses supplier capabilities through direct visits, technical discussions, directed testing and quality system audits
  • Proactively communicates quality issues to suppliers as needed through supplier quality system audits, supplier corrective action requests and technical discussions.
  • Contributes and participates in supplier performance reviews.
  • Participate in or lead teams in supporting Supplier Development Quality program requirements (e.g., represent the Supplier Development Quality function as a Core Team Member)
  • Complies with Joint Commission regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Manage all activities related to Supplier Quality Engineering in accordance to policy, including supplier selection and evaluation, material qualification, inspection procedure development, supplier corrective action, supplier assessments, supplier performance reviews and supplier development.
  • Develop, train, implement and continuously approve upon department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with Division SOPs and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and thorough review of product/process changes.
  • Provide routine communications with department employees to ensure awareness.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (± 13 years) or relevant education and experience.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills, including the demonstrated ability to lead multi-departmental project teams and resolve quality-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects. Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-20%, including internationally.


Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of medical device related experience
  • Strong Experience with Supplier Quality Systems
  • Knowledge of Regulated Industries


Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work sitting down for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work with computer and multiple computer screens for extended periods of time.

The base pay for this position is
$90,000.00 - $180,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
