About the Role

The Senior Scheduler is responsible for leading the planning and scheduling function across Nevada Projects, ensuring a disciplined, integrated approach to project planning, execution, and performance monitoring. This role serves as the owner of the project schedule, providing oversight of short-, medium-, and long-term schedules while ensuring alignment between engineering, procurement, construction, permitting, and operational readiness activities.

Working closely with project leadership, EPCM partners, and Project Controls teams, the Senior Scheduler provides schedule governance, risk analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting to support the successful delivery of project milestones, budgets, and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule Development & Governance
  • Develop, maintain, and govern integrated project schedules aligned to project scope, milestones, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Serve as the owner of the project schedule and Basis of Schedule in coordination with EPCM partners.
  • Ensure all project functions, including Engineering, Mining, Procurement, Sustainability, Permitting, Construction, and Operational Readiness, are fully integrated into the project schedule.
  • Maintain schedule standards, procedures, and planning methodologies consistent with AGA project governance requirements.


Schedule Performance & Risk Management
  • Monitor progress against approved baseline schedules and identify critical path impacts, delays, and execution risks.
  • Perform schedule risk assessments and develop mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Analyze schedule trends and forecast project performance against key milestones.
  • Evaluate schedule impacts associated with scope changes, design modifications, and project risks.


Project Controls Integration
  • Partner with Cost Control and Estimating teams to ensure alignment between schedule, cash flow forecasts, and project budgets.
  • Support integration between Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS).
  • Ensure scheduling assumptions support accurate forecasting and project reporting.
  • Collaborate with Project Controls to maintain consistency across cost, schedule, risk, and change management processes.


Reporting & Stakeholder Management
  • Prepare schedule updates, executive dashboards, progress reports, and presentations for project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Communicate schedule performance, risks, variances, and recommended corrective actions in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Support project reviews, stage-gate evaluations, and business planning activities.
  • Facilitate planning workshops and schedule review sessions with project teams and contractors.


Continuous Improvement
  • Capture and analyze as-built performance data and lessons learned to improve future project planning.
  • Benchmark project planning performance against industry standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Nevada Projects' Project Controls systems and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with AGA's End-to-End Capital Management Process and governance framework.


Requirements

Person Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • PMP certification (or progress toward certification) preferred.
  • Knowledge of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and operational constraints preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in project scheduling, mine engineering, or project controls.
  • 7-10 years of scheduling experience supporting capital projects within mining or related industries.
  • Experience managing integrated schedules for major capital projects through study, execution, and commissioning phases.
  • Strong understanding of industry-standard project management practices and governance frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and planning capabilities.
  • Sound judgment and ability to work independently in complex project environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and manage competing deadlines.
  • Collaborative approach with a focus on achieving project objectives and continuous improvement.
  • Valid driver's license required for travel to project sites.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
