Job Description: This position is for a Project Engineer leading Development Programs and supporting component and system-level obsolescence management within the Power Systems Engineering organization. The role is responsible for leading multi-disciplined engineering teams in the proposal, design, development and delivery of next-generation products. As an integral part of our fast-paced environment, the ideal candidate is a key decision maker, leader, mentor and motivator to their engineering team.
Essential Functions: - Key interface between the Engineering team and Program Management departments.
- Ensures all technical performance, cost and schedule goals on the program are met.
- Acting as an advisor to senior management and customers on advanced technical studies and/or applications.
- Identifying and managing program technical risks.
- Establishing schedule, resource, budget, and tool requirements for tasks.
- Ensuring engineering processes are followed on projects.
- Supporting component and system-level obsolescence management, including tracking, monitoring, and proactive identification of at-risk parts.
- Leading or contributing to technical investigations related to component failures, discrepancies, or performance issues.
- Developing, reviewing, engineering test plans and procedures.
- Reviewing or presenting alternate parts or design solutions to mitigate obsolescence or performance risks.
- Coordinating with suppliers, manufacturing, and cross-functional engineering teams to validate replacement components and ensure compliance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DOD Security Clearance.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or Mathematics, Computer Science) and minimum 6 years of relevant prior experience, inclusive of 1 year of leadership experience,
- or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience,
- Or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- 4+ years of experience and knowledge in developing, proposing, managing, implementing, testing products and system solutions in power systems or related including:
- Naval power or power conversion systems.
- Military production products with complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Production product lifecycle management.
- Experience with testing, ideally involving environmental and vibration/shock testing.
- 1+ year experience in leadership and direct participation in technical proposal development, cost estimation (BOE Creation), and manpower planning.
- Previous DoW (DoD) engineering development experience.
- Requirements analysis and definition experience.
- Experience in the preparation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- IMS (schedule) development and maintenance (preferably with Microsoft Project).
- 2+ years of EVM/CAM experience.
- 2+ years of experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
- 2+ years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
- Experience with leading multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
Preferred Additional Skills:- Prior experience with temperature, humidity, shock, and vibration testing and certification highly desired.
- Effective presentation and communication skills.
- Technical Master's degree (i.e., MSEE, MSCS, MSSE, etc.).
- Experience in the use of Product Development Process and methodologies ISO 9001 compliant processes).
- Agile Development Methodology (HW/SW).
- Jira experience.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is US$106,500 MIN - US$197,500 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
