Sr. Solution Engineer, Federal Government Sales
We are actively recruiting for a Sr. Solution Engineer, Federal Government Sales to join our Pre-Sales organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Pre-Sales, this role may be performed remotely from a home office within the United States, with a preference for candidates located in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.
Position Summary
Rimini Street is seeking an experienced Sr. Solution Engineer, Federal Government Sales to support the growth of its U.S. Federal Government business. The Federal Solution Engineer serves as a trusted advisor to Federal agencies and systems integrator partners, working closely with Federal Account Executives throughout the sales cycle to position Rimini Street's portfolio of Support, Managed Services, Security, Application Management Services (AMS), and Professional Services offerings.
The successful candidate will combine enterprise software and technology expertise with a strong understanding of Federal Government environments, acquisition processes, security considerations, and mission-focused stakeholder needs. This individual will engage directly with agency leadership, technical teams, procurement stakeholders, and internal delivery organizations to develop practical, compelling solutions that reduce cost, improve operational resilience, and support modernization initiatives.
Sr. Solution Engineer, Federal Government Sales is a critical member of the Federal go-to-market team and serves as a primary liaison between Sales, Service Delivery, Product Management, Security, Legal, Finance, and Executive Leadership to support complex opportunities from initial discovery through contract execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Federal Sales Opportunities
- Partner with Federal Account Executives to develop opportunity strategy, qualification plans, competitive positioning, and pursuit execution.
- Lead discovery discussions with Federal agencies to understand technical environments, business challenges, modernization objectives, compliance considerations, and procurement requirements.
- Present Rimini Street services and value proposition to Federal stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs, Program Managers, Enterprise Architects, Security Officers, Procurement Officials, and Executive Leadership.
- Support responses to RFPs, RFIs, sources sought notices, technical evaluations, proposal development, solution reviews, pricing strategy discussions, and contract negotiations.
- Develop customized solution strategies that address agency-specific requirements and mission objectives.
- Provide Technical and Solution Expertise
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Rimini Street's support, managed services, AMS, security, and professional services portfolio.
- Explain enterprise software support strategies for SAP, Oracle, VMware, IBM, and other enterprise application ecosystems.
- Conduct technical workshops, architecture reviews, and executive briefings that clearly connect technical decisions to business value.
- Address technical objections and competitive challenges throughout the sales cycle.
- Collaborate with Delivery, Product, and Security teams to validate service scope, feasibility, assumptions, risk considerations, and resource requirements.
- Guide Federal Modernization Initiatives
- Advise agencies on modernization strategies, application lifecycle planning, cloud adoption considerations, software support alternatives, and operational risk management.
- Help agencies evaluate alternatives to vendor-driven upgrade mandates while maintaining mission continuity and service quality.
- Provide guidance regarding software licensing, support models, audit exposure, security requirements, and hybrid operating environments.
- Support discussions around application modernization, migration, optimization, and transformation initiatives.
- Build Federal Market Credibility
- Represent Rimini Street at Federal conferences, industry events, partner meetings, and customer executive briefings.
- Support Federal marketing initiatives, thought leadership content, and partner-facing enablement.
- Establish trusted relationships with systems integrators, channel partners, and Federal stakeholders.
- Contribute field insight to Federal go-to-market strategy, messaging, pursuit planning, and offering development.
- Internal Collaboration and Governance
- Work closely with Service Delivery, Product Management, Security, Legal, Finance, Sales Operations, and Executive Leadership.
- Support pricing reviews, risk assessments, solution approvals, scope documentation, and contract assumption validation.
- Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation for solution assumptions, scope boundaries, pricing inputs, and outstanding information needs.
- Participate in enablement, mentoring, and knowledge sharing across the broader Solution Engineering organization.

Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, solution architecture, consulting, enterprise software, managed services, or related technology roles.
- 5+ years supporting Federal Government sales opportunities, Federal agencies, systems integrators, or public sector organizations.
- Experience working with large enterprise environments supporting ERP, database, infrastructure, cloud, or mission-critical applications.
- Demonstrated success participating in complex enterprise sales cycles and winning competitive business.
- Experience supporting Federal procurement activities, including RFPs, RFIs, BPAs, GWACs, IDIQs, and other government contract vehicles.
- Experience presenting to technical stakeholders, executive audiences, procurement teams, and cross-functional decision-makers.
- Proven ability to collaborate across matrixed organizations and global delivery teams.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Relevant industry, cloud, security, or enterprise software certifications are a plus.
Location and Travel
- Remote - United States.
- Washington D.C. Metro area preferred, but not required.
- Approximately 25-35% travel expected to support customer engagements, conferences, partner meetings, and strategic initiatives.
The general OTE range for this type of role is 209k - 314k depending on skills and experience. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be based on several factors such as: a candidate's location, and the level of applicable skills and professional experience. Rimini’s target pay for each position is available upon request during the applicant’s Interview process.
