  • Lead the design and implementation of federated GraphQL solutions using Node.js, Spring Boot, and DGS to improve how teams build and integrate APIs across eBay's ecosystem.
  • Own and evolve highly critical production services, helping ensure strong availability, resilience, and throughput for customer- and business-facing experiences.
  • Partner with senior technology leaders, architects, product owners, and adjacent platform teams to turn business needs into scalable API contracts and unified architecture decisions.
  • Drive improvements in query performance, cost analysis, security, error handling, and client integration patterns to enable reliable and efficient GraphQL adoption.
  • Enable product teams on their GraphQL learning and migration journeys by providing technical guidance, reusable patterns, and best practices for federation and schema design.
  • Prototype and refine practical solutions in Node.js or Spring Boot, continuously improving engineering design, development processes, and platform standards as the ecosystem evolves.
What you will bring:
  • 8+ years of software development experience building and supporting production applications or distributed systems at scale.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js and/or Spring Boot, with the ability to design, build, and troubleshoot robust backend services.

  • Hands-on or transferable experience with GraphQL, including preferred experience with federated GraphQL and schema design; familiarity with Apollo Federation is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin, plus an understanding of service-oriented architecture, microservices, and modern engineering practices.
