Amazon Lab126 is looking for Embedded Security Engineer to research and prototype detection methods to identify malicious activities to protect our consumer devices. If you enjoy analyzing attack techniques (e.g., hardware and application stack), analyzing system services, operating systems, networks and applications from a security perspective, and you are skilled at discovering security issues that appear under new threat scenarios, this position will provide you with challenging opportunities. Once your prototype for abuse detection and defense mechanism is validated, you will work with software developers in your team to bring those new techniques to our consumer devices. The team has many opportunities to innovate in the device security field (e.g., Hardware security, Linux/Android Security, Machine Learning, Big data, etc.).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of non-internship background in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools experience
- 5+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans experience
- 4+ years of (non-internship) scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages experience
- Knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go
- Experience (non-internship) in scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language
- Experience (non-internship) in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools
- Experience working in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans
- Experience (non-internship) in industry-based security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent
- Experience with security in service-oriented architectures/microservices and web services
- Experience with security in service-oriented architectures and web services
- Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits or equivalent
- Experience with training and deploying machine learning systems to solve large-scale optimizations, or experience operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
- Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
