The Sr. Scientist will be located in Cortland, NY and will report to the Senior Director, Membrane. This is an onsite role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- SME: Develop the capability to serve as a subject matter expert in Pall filtration and purification technologies and their diverse applications
- Manufacturing Screening: Lead a significant aspect of manufacturing screening to determine the main membrane supplier for different microporous media technologies, such as Meltblown (PP, PPS), Wetlaid (Cellulose, GF), Stretch (PE, PTFE), Phase Inversion (Nylon, PES), and Inorganics
- Material Selection: Determine and identifying optimal materials for specific product designs by balancing performance, cost, and manufacturing sustainability goals, considering both internal and external suppliers.
- Research and Development: Lead and execute external and internal media screening, designated testing, and support the down-selection of membranes for strategic projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and regulatory during the project cycles and serve as the technical voice alongside the BU marketing teams will help us better understand product requirements and drive the development of product specifications that deliver effective project solutions to include preparing project technical strategy proposals based on the BU project request.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- PhD degree PhD in Material Science, Polymer/Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering with experience in microporous membrane production.
- 5+ years' experience with industrial membrane filtration technologies
- Strong problem-solving abilities, technical writing, and communication skills to effectively collaborate across technical, filter design, quality, sourcing and manufacturing teams.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Membrane Science, Colloidal Science and filtration experience
- Advanced characterization techniques, microscopy, spectroscopy

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
