Full Job Description
Description

The Role

The robots run on AnywareOS, our industrial physical intelligence system. Its architecture is modular and designed to generalize across applications without reprogramming. We are seeking a Sr. Robotics Systems Engineer with strong technical depth in analyzing the behavior of complex robotic systems in real-world environments. This role owns robot reliability, diagnostics, and cross-functional problem solving across software, hardware, operations, and customer deployments.

You will investigate challenging robot behaviors, identify root causes, and fix cross-cutting issues directly in the codebase / on the robot or route them with a precise diagnosis - driving every system issue through to resolution and long-term prevention.

What you'll do
  • Own robot reliability across development, test, and customer environments, and act as the technical lead for complex field issues that span multiple subsystems.
  • Investigate complex robot behaviors across perception, planning, controls, manipulation, and hardware integration, and determine whether the root cause is software, hardware, configuration, calibration, operations, or process.
  • Reproduce failures using logs, telemetry, replay tools, simulation, and physical robots - including repeatable methods for difficult, intermittent issues.
  • Drive issues to resolution - coordinate investigations across software, hardware, and operations; fix cross-cutting issues directly in the codebase (a hands-on role - you own the change through review and merge); and route single-team issues with a reproduced, root-caused diagnosis rather than a symptom.
  • Prevent recurrence with validation and regression testing, and by systematically eliminating recurring failure patterns.

Required Skills
  • 3+ years building or debugging production software for physical or real-time systems.
  • Experience keeping physical or real-time systems reliable in production (on-call, incident response, reducing recurring failures).
  • Familiarity with regression and integration testing.
  • Strong modern C++ and Python - a hands-on coding role, not coordination-only.
  • Proven ability to debug complex systems from logs and telemetry and fix the root cause in the code, owning the full loop: reproduce root-cause fix validate prevent.
  • A proactive problem-solver who digs to the true root cause rather than patching symptoms, and surfaces recurring failure patterns before they become incidents.

Nice to have
  • Robotics middleware, motion planning, or manipulation experience.
  • Mobile manipulation or warehouse/logistics automation.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $150K-220K USD/year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Additional compensation may include equity, benefits, or other incentives, where applicable.

Benefits & Perks
  • Comprehensive health insurance for you and your family
  • Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Paid sick leave
  • 401(k) plan support
  • Daily meal credit
