Job DescriptionJob Summary:
Operates all x-ray equipment in the radiology department to produce images of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians. Positions and instructs patients prior to examination, adjusts equipment and determines proper technique and desired exposure times for each image. Explains any post-procedure instructions to patients upon exam completion.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Five years' radiology experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
- Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA and HI
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
- Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA within 6 months of hire
Facility Specific License/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
- Fluoroscopy (FLUORO): Required
Essential Functions:
- Supports radiologists by assisting with specialized tests, notifying radiologists of STAT exams within guidelines and producing quality images to aid in diagnosis.
- Prepares and performs exams while demonstrating efficiency and professionalism.
- Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the cardiac catheterization department, selecting technical factors to ensure high quality radiographs using ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) standards.
- Leads collaborative departmental protocol development efforts.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
