The Work
Our Radar Systems Engineering team is seeking a candidate to support architecture, design, Concept of Operations, requirements development, analysis, and implementation of high performance Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar systems.
In your role as a Sensor Systems Architect, you will:
• Perform concept of operations design, radar behavior definition, and associated requirements development to drive radar capability implementation across radar subsystems.
• Successfully collaborate with subsystem teams to define clear, executable, and testable approaches for meeting mission success criteria
• Conduct trade studies and analyze the radar system level performance impacts to support and evaluate design decisions
• Develop and present detailed design documentation
• Represent the organization on contracts and interface with internal and external customers, program and senior leadership, and multi-disciplinary teams on significant technical matters.
• Apply strong analytical and communication skills in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment

• This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or equivalent degree combined with 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of related experience
- Functional knowledge of radar systems and subsystems
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: system analysis, architecture, requirements development, trade studies, modeling and simulation, or integration and test.
- High proficiency in C++ or Matlab or Python
- U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret
level clearance
Desired skills
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or equivalent
- Radar systems development experience including signal processing, antenna patterns, detection/tracking/discrimination algorithms, software, data analysis, and modeling & simulation
- Experience leading technical teams and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated analytical, applied mathematics and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD)
and Anti-Aircraft Warfare (AAW) concepts and
design considerations
- Active DoD Secret level clearance or higher
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
The base range for this position in New Jersey is $130,000 - $244,662.
