The Sr. R&D Engineer is responsible for conducting and engaging in New Product Development (NPD) of advanced filtration projects. You will drive innovation, cross functionally, to deliver differentiated product performance with custom solutions, engage with the Energy+ business unit to ensure technical and strategy alignment. T
This position reports to the Director, R&D and is part of our growing Central R&D organization helping develop next generation separation and purification solutions. This role is an onsite role and is located in Cortland, NY.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Apply technical background (from Chemical/Mechanical/Materials Engineering), especially related to fluid-flow, strength of materials and structural-mechanical design for design of liquid and gas filtration technologies.
• Design, Analyze and Engineer new products (with differentiated performance improvements) with the use of standard tools, state-of-the-art engineering software, design calculations, and best-known methods for product designs
• Contribute to the entire value chain of filtration technology design with core focus on design, modeling, prototyping, testing and analysis.
• Strive to be a subject matter expert (SME) in designàmodelàprototypeàtestingàanalysis for targeted application; and mentor fresh grads/new talent to adopt the invention (of your subject matter expertise)
• Lead innovation and develop new technologies, build new ideas that enable New Product Development and contribute to Pall's valuable IP (Intellectual Property)
The essential requirements of the job include:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or materials engineering
• At least 5+ years of experience in R&D/product development and/or design engineering
• Experience in dynamic flow testing and analysis
• Experience/Technical background in system design for filtration technology is highly preferred
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
• Technical background related to filtration technology for liquid/gas separation and purification
• Technical skills in macro- and micro-fluid flow, structural mechanics, design to engineering, finite element methods, and/or process modelling is desirable
The annual salary range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
