Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

Support quality assurance (QA) programs and processes in alignment with QA strategy and deliverables in an Agile/Scrum environment. Provide feedback on artifacts developed during requirements and analysis phase within client projects. Author test cases/scripts and perform test execution for project and support related activities. Lead testing efforts involving coaching, mentoring, code reviews and contributing to improvements to frameworks, tools, processes, and best practices. Provide oversight to ensure automation test suites are well maintained and operational. Analyze requirements and provide feedback on completeness and testability. Provide accurate estimates for QA efforts including test case design/scripting, test data management, test execution, and defect correction. Identify opportunities to improve application code quality by increasing unit and integration test coverage. Leverage technical expertise to develop, maintain and execute automation tests. Provide ideas and feedback on test automation frameworks and opportunities to improve. Assist with building and maintaining test environments and driving their best use. Understand Kroger's core quality metrics and how to utilize them to foster quality improvement. Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties may be located at any Kroger Co. office throughout U.S. Telecommuting from home office may be available per company policy.

Qualifications

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related STEM field plus at least 6 years of experience in quality assurance and software testing (or a closely related field)
  • OR, alternatively, a Master's degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related STEM field plus at least 4 years of experience in quality assurance and software or testing (or a closely related field)

Within this, must have experience in all of the following, which may run concurrently:
  • Minimum 4 years developing and executing automated test scripts;
  • Minimum 4 years working with automated test frameworks and test runners;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with test case management and test case management tools;
  • Minimum 3 years utilizing risk-based testing techniques;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with defect management and using defect management tools;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing test environments and test data;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience using SQL or other query methods to validate data changes in the database;
  • Any amount of experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment; and
  • Any amount of experience mentoring and coaching team members (remote and onsite).
