JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Project Planner / Scheduler – RD&E / NPI is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting material requirements for Research, Development & Engineering (RD&E) and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities. This role supports on-time delivery commitments by managing priorities, work-in-process requirements, cost considerations, expediting needs, and communication related to material availability.

Position Summary

This position partners closely with Engineering Product Teams, Project Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure RD&E upgrades, new product projects, and customer delivery commitments are supported through effective planning, scheduling, and material coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, drive, and schedule New Product and RD&E material requirements to support engineering upgrades and customer delivery commitments.
  • Release work orders in support of New Product and RD&E projects.
  • Forecast and identify supply constraints, assess risk, and communicate potential impacts to on-time customer delivery.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Product Teams and Project Managers to support New Product project execution.
  • Perform material analysis using advanced planning systems to support expedited delivery requests.
  • Follow documented procedures and recommend process improvements to strengthen planning and material management practices.
  • Process requisitions and transfer orders to support Engineering activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate reports as required to support project visibility and decision-making.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities

The successful candidate must be able to resolve complex issues, evaluate alternatives, and develop effective compromise solutions while working with limited direction from management. This individual must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment, set appropriate priorities, and interact effectively with various levels of management and Engineering staff. Strong organizational, communication, analytical, assertiveness, and attention-to-detail skills are required.

Business Systems and Technical Knowledge

Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required. Experience with MRP systems, Kinaxis, documentation control systems, and change management systems is preferred. Formal training in material management and inventory disciplines is desirable. Semiconductor industry experience is a plus.

Education and Experience

Three to five years of experience in New Product planning, project planning, scheduling, material planning, or related discipline is required.

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE

$89,379.04 - $134,068.56

This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.

Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on

multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work

location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as

you develop within the role.

Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the

Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular

employees working 20+ hours a week).
