Full Job Description
Job Title: Sr. Project Manager

Job Duties: Hold Owners, subcontractors, and vendors accountable to the performance of their contract. Hold progress, planning, and safety meetings with all project stakeholders on a regular basis. Work with the Estimating Department to solicit subcontractor bids and prepare the final cost estimate and proposal upon which the final contract is based. Assume overall responsibility for startup activities on the project; and work with the superintendent on matters, such as site security, temporary power, utility connections, placement of office trailers, and locations for stored materials. Perform a detailed review of subcontractor bids for buyout purposes and awards subcontracts when negotiations have been concluded. Ensure that subcontractors have all the required bonds and insurance policies in place before allowing work to begin. Resolve problems as they arise, regarding interpretation and administration of the contracts. Prepare and submit the monthly pay request for the Owners and architects, ensuring that billings are processed in an accurate, timely manner; and identify and correct delays, if any. Submit and negotiate proposed changes, ensuring that necessary Owner approvals have been obtained in writing before construction work begins and notify the superintendent of the accepted changes. Analyze and be responsible for updates to cost information on Austin Bridge and Roads job cost reporting data. Review Labor Cost Reports with the superintendent at regular intervals and ensure that field supervisors are kept up to date on the unit costs for their work and how it compares with the bid estimate. Work with the Scheduling Department to develop a master construction schedule outlining the sequence of work to be performed. Together with the superintendent, ensure that uniformly high standards of quality are established and maintained throughout the project. Provide leadership to the project team to promote safety, quality, teamwork, respect, and efficiency. Develop and maintain the trust of the ownership and design team. Forecast cost for self-performed work and to determine labor and equipment resources are in line with project needs.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field and 7 years of experience supervising and coordinating construction projects. Experience must include at least 2 years in the following skills: Working within design build projects using technical building procedures to align with the fluid design process during construction; Mass placement concrete adhering to TxDOT design standards and practices; Cold weather concrete placement; and Utilize Bluebeam to prepare engineering takeoffs.
