OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for aSenior Project Manager (Non-Technical) who will be responsible for leading and overseeing complex operational and digitization initiatives across the program. This role focuses on driving process improvements, managing subcontractor9s workstream, ensuring quality control, and optimizing business operations. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, ensure project alignment with program goals, and deliver results through effective coordination and stakeholder management. This position is fully remote within the US.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end management of digitization and operational projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
- Manage and oversee subcontractors, including performance tracking, compliance, and deliverables
- Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, process optimization, and efficiency initiatives
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Develop, implement, and enhance standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows
- Monitor project performance using KPIs, metrics, and reporting frameworks
- Ensure adherence to quality standards through robust quality management and control processes
- Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve issues
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure alignment and seamless execution
- Lead change management initiatives to support transformation and digitization efforts
- Conduct regular reviews, audits, and performance assessments of projects and processes
- Prepare and present status reports, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor9s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (Master9s preferred)
- 8 612+ years of experience in project management, operations, or process improvement roles
- Proven experience managing non-technical projects such as digitization, operations, or transformation initiatives
- Strong experience in subcontractor/vendor management in government contracts.
- Demonstrated expertise in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP or equivalent)
- Experience in quality management systems and operational audits
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills
- Experience with performance metrics and reporting tools
Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance
