WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Responsible for using best practice PMO methodology to create a project plan to the fit the stakeholders/sponsor's needs, clear articulation of outcomes, service level agreements and metric as well as developing a schedule to ensure project completion. Must be accountable for comprehending the project scope and project objectives to effectively coordinate the activities of the team members and ensure completion of the project timeline. Assemble a team, outline individual responsibilities and provide on-going direction. Typical project scope will include managing a large project or several smaller projects.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Key Accountabilities:
  • Fully accountable for team engagement to achieve deliverables and project outcomes
  • Act as escalation point to resolve issues, conflicts and remove barriers
  • Manages project scope/requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics/assumptions
  • Provide consulting and guidance on project initiatives including business case preparation and developing creative/alternative approaches to problem resolution
  • Promote innovative or improved methods to get the work done and implements best practices
  • Supervise project closure initiatives, such as client satisfaction survey and closure analysis
  • Manage ongoing communication of project status, completing the monthly Project Status Reports and escalating issues to the stakeholders, Sponsor(s), and senior management


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelor degree
  • PMP certification would be an asset
  • 10+ years experience managing small to medium sized projects
  • Experience following project management best practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics


Skills and Competencies:
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop project plans
  • Manage individual deadlines and goals
  • Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis
  • Advanced proficiency with all MS Office applications, MS Project and/or Visio
