Aboutthe Position:

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll play a critical role in delivering high-quality building performance and commissioning projects while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders. You'll lead project teams, oversee project execution from start to finish, and help drive both project and business success.

This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise, leadership, client engagement, and business development while working alongside a collaborative team committed to delivering excellence.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Project Leadership: Lead complex commissioning and building performance projects from planning through closeout, ensuring successful delivery on scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Client Partnership: Build and maintain trusted client relationships by serving as a primary advisor and ensuring a high level of responsiveness, communication, and project satisfaction.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive project performance by proactively managing risks, contracts, resources, budgets, and project profitability while maintaining accountability for results.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and support technical staff while fostering collaboration, professional growth, and effective project team performance.

Qualifications:

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, building sciences, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant technical experience may be considered.
  • Experience with building systems commissioning, building performance consulting, or related technical project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving planning, budgeting, scheduling, coordination, and client communication.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple concurrent projects in a client-focused environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support client meetings, project site visits, and project delivery activities.

Preferred
  • Experience with MEP systems, controls, testing and balancing, energy auditing, energy modeling, construction, or commissioning services.
  • Experience supporting business development efforts, proposal development, and client relationship growth.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as PE, PMP, BCxA, AABC, NEBB, TABB, USGBC, PMI, or AEE.

Working Conditions:

Typical Travel: Up to 50% (travel to project sites throughout the region will be required)

Work Environment: Hybrid environment of office and in field for site visits. Site visits may include exposure to construction environments, uneven grounds, varying weather conditions, and field interactions.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform site inspections, which may include walking project sites, climbing ladders, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and working in confined spaces when needed. Reasonable accommodation may be provided.

Reports to: Operations Team Leader

Supervisory duties: Technical leadership, mentoring, and project direction to Assistant Project Managers, Commissioning Engineers, and other project team members.

Partners with: Works closely with EEI Associates, Directors, Project Managers, Technical Leads, Commissioning Engineers, and Operations staff. Collaborates regularly with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and facility personnel.

Key Representative to: EEI clients, contractors, vendors and project stakeholders.
