Job Description

Position summary: Responsible for leading JMT's high-dollar, complex contracts and associated facilities projects to ensure a high-quality delivery through quality, schedule, and budget. The Senior PM will begin the project life cycle by identifying leads and marketing efforts on targeted areas of growth. The individual serves in a leadership role providing guidance and mentorship as well as ensuring project(s) continue to align with JMT's organizational goals.

Essential functions and responsibilities
  • Manages project(s) in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborates with disciplines and subconsultants to develop a risk adverse project scope and fee.
  • Develop project specific project plans, Project Management Plans/quality management plan.
  • Leadership role for Program Management contracts to oversee projects from inception, through design and construction, and closeout.
  • Create and maintain project schedules.
  • Manage subconsultants
  • Monitor and execute project progress, including identifying and mitigate risks, developing extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals.
  • Communicate project status, updates, and issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in office's project financial status meetings.
  • Build relationships with client(s) to understand preferences and requirements to set-up and execute a quality project.
  • Prepare progress reports and review invoices.
  • Develop and lead project status and presentations
  • Assist Section Heads, Office Leaders, and Practice Leaders with the marketing process including, SMART Go/No Go decisions, proposal development, interviews, and developing a win strategy.
  • Collaborating with Section Head and Office Leader on identifying leads and opportunities based on strategic goals.
  • Assist Section Head and Office Leader with developing strategic goals based on client's program information, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of clients and other industry stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and guide all technical resources within the project team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality outcome.
  • Leveraging advanced knowledge and experience with the client and project type to analyze the project, anticipate potential risks (such as overruns and scope changes), and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Implement strategies for project tracking and reporting by using project performance metrics to foresee and mitigate issues.
  • Providing coaching and mentorship to the project team through one-on-one check-in meetings and various project debriefs to acknowledge achievements, identify areas for improvement, and share lessons learned.
  • Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of team.

Required Experience

  • Professional License or applicable certification
  • Experience with multiple project delivery methods i.e. Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CM at Risk
  • Experience managing multidiscipline project teams
  • K-12 Public Education Experience
  • Program Management Experience of Capital Projects

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
