Full Job Description
Job Purpose

Progress Rail has a full time opening for an experienced engineer who has demonstrated ability to understand engine component design, manufacturing and salvage. This position's primary responsibility is to lead engine and engine component designs to introduce new remanufactured engine offerings to the market. Collaborate with marketing, product and manufacturing engineering, supply chain, and business resource teams to identify, prioritize, and execute project deliverables. Evaluate and develop potential salvage process technologies across the enterprise for a variety of components.

Key Job Elements
• Technical development of reman BOM's and components with a multidisciplinary team to drive adherence to cost, quality and velocity targets.
• Project management of multiple technical solutions, developing schedules and managing deliverables to key timelines.
• Design and document various processes and methods to reclaim and requalify engine components.
• Familiarity with machining and assembly of complex parts and typical processes used for engine component manufacturing and salvage.
• Perform engine troubleshooting, data collection and failure analysis following DMAIC process
• Author, implement and sustain engineering changes to improve product and process quality
• Execute product implementation plans with supervisor guidance
• Coordinate technical discussions between production, engineering & quality personnel and drive corrective action implementation

Qualifications and Experience
• Experienced (7 or more years) in project leadership, engineering design, New Product Introduction and Current Product Improvement.
• Experience with Remanufacturing and/or NPI program management with demonstrated leadership of complex projects on cross functional teams, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and marketing.
• Working knowledge of engines or engine components.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a variety of audiences
• Good oral and written communication skills
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
• Understanding of design / manufacturing processes
• Flexibility to quickly adapt to changing assignments
• Ability and willingness to travel as required, up to 20%
