The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is looking for a motivated individual to be a Senior Project Engineer leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers (including systems, mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines) developing complex engineering solutions. The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international.
As a key member of the Avionics Test Engineering leadership team, the Senior Project Engineering ensures the successful execution of test solution projects from inception, through deployment to customers, as well as long-term support. Typical test solutions custom designed electrical hardware as well as COTS components such as switch systems, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and other related equipment coupled with custom software for performing Environmental Stress Screening as well as testing circuit card assemblies and top-level products.

This is a multi-faceted role requiring versatility across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment. The role requires working closely with engineers and leaders, at various locations around the globe, to ensure project success. Organizationally, the role reports to an Engineering Manager in the Avionics Test Engineering organization.
What You Will Do:
Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making and continuous improvement purposes
Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed to commitments
Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path
Utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget (and schedule)
Ensure project meets quality expectations
Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership
Prepare well-crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams
Develop Engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gaining organizational buy-in

Sound technical knowledge in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: systems, mechanical, electrical, or software
Organizational and time management skills to effectively execute multiple active projects
Proficiency with developing and maintaining schedules using Microsoft Project

Outstanding oral, written, and formal presentation communication skills
Sharp critical thinking approaches

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
