Job Summary
The Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for successful execution of Advanced Electrical Services (AES) projects from Order Entry through Project Closeout. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and internal cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are delivered according to scope, schedule, quality, and profitability objectives. The position coordinates project activities across sales, engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, production planning, and field service while supporting both commercial and technical aspects of project execution. The Senior Project Coordinator manages multiple concurrent projects, monitors progress against key milestones, resolves issues, and drives customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle, managing AES projects from Order Entry through Project Closeout.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, production planning, and field service to ensure projects are delivered according to scope, schedule, quality, and profitability objectives.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress against key milestones, identify risks, and drive resolution of project issues.

  • Manage project documentation and ensure compliance with customer specifications, contracts, purchase orders, quotations, and project requirements.

  • Support project financial and commercial activities including cost tracking, forecasting, change order administration, revenue recognition, and profitability monitoring.

  • Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to communicate project status, align expectations, and ensure a positive customer experience.

  • Monitor engineering, procurement, production, and commissioning activities to ensure project commitments are achieved and quality standards are met.

  • Prepare and communicate project reports, schedules, and performance updates to customers and leadership.

  • Prepare and communicate project status updates, reports, schedules, and performance metrics to management and customers.

Degree Requirement

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Project Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

    • Utilizes preferred tools, techniques and methods for estimating project cost and time.

    • Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.

    • Conducts regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients.

  • Tactical/Strategic Planning: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

    • Develops, refines, and communicates tactical plans for own responsibilities.

    • Provides the right level of detail as input for strategic plan development.

    • Demonstrates the value and necessity of linking tactical plans to overall strategic plan.

    • Ensures attention to the detail and dependencies of existing departmental-level plans.

    • Plans for allocation of resources in line with unit goals, technical and business objectives.

    • Ensures the planning process is integrated with the overall business plan.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Previous experience supporting Advanced Electrical Services (AES), electric power, switchgear, controls, or power systems projects.

  • Experience coordinating projects involving engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, field service, or commissioning teams.

  • Knowledge of project management principles and best practices.

  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, forecasts, change orders, or customer deliverables.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations, production planning, or equipment lifecycle processes.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering a high level of customer service.

Additional Information

  • This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

  • Travel up to 10% is possible.

  • Relocation is not available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$97,530.00 - $146,290.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
