Full Job Description
The Sr. Program Manager of Demand Planning Capabilities is responsible for driving execution of WFM's demand planning program across a complex, cross-functional stakeholder landscape. This role is the connective tissue between business teams and technology partners, ensuring that program goals are clearly defined, tracked, and delivered with rigor.

The ideal candidate is a structured thinker and strong communicator who can operate at both the strategic and tactical level - translating ambiguous business problems into clear program plans, driving alignment across senior stakeholders, and holding teams accountable to outcomes. This role requires deep curiosity about demand planning and forecasting, a customer obsessed mindset for stakeholder engagement, and an innate desire to drive progress and clarity.

Key job responsibilities

- Responsible for driving the 3-year program vision across Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Technology teams that results in excellent customer experiences, top-notch operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across multiple stakeholders.

- Drive cross-functional alignment across by facilitating working groups, documenting decisions, and driving alignment.

- Define and align business processes and decision-making flows across planning functions, ensuring that roles, handoffs, and escalation paths are clearly documented and consistently followed.

- Lead program reviews by synthesizing program status, surfacing risks and lowlights with candor, and proposing clear paths to resolution.

- Develop and maintain the demand planning KPI framework, driving alignment on measurement standards across planning and inventory teams and continuously improving how the program tracks and communicates its impact.

- Own the program's entitlement framework - defining our impact to the business.

- Support the expansion and adoption of demand planning tools and capabilities by coordinating user onboarding, change management, and feedback loops between end users and product teams.

- Identify capability gaps in the current demand planning operating model and develop structured recommendations for leadership.

- Produce high-quality written artifacts - including program narratives, goal documents, operating model proposals, and executive briefings - that meet Amazon's bar for clarity, precision, and data-backed reasoning.

A day in the life

In the morning, you triage Slack threads from Supply Chain, Tech, and Merchandising partners, then facilitate a cross-functional working group to drive alignment on the forecasting roadmap. Midday, you synthesize program status and surface risks for a leadership review. After lunch, you shift to deep work - writing an operating model proposal or refining the demand planning KPI framework. You close the day coordinating user onboarding for a new forecasting tool and capturing feedback to loop back to the product team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions

- 4+ years of supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
