A DAY IN THE LIFE:The Senior Product Manager, AID Systems, is responsible for discovering, defining, shaping, and delivering product strategies and solutions across the full product lifecycle, from early stage discovery and long-range strategic planning through development, launch, and ongoing lifecycle management. This role interacts and spans across the organization and plays a critical role in translating business strategy, customer needs, and market insights into actionable product direction. As the voice and champion of the customer and a strategic partner to cross functional teams, the Senior Product Manager works closely with stakeholders across R&D, Systems Engineering, Program Management, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Human Factors, User Experience, Finance, and Marketing. The Senior Product Manager is expected to operate effectively in ambiguity, align diverse stakeholders, and balance near term execution with longer term platform, portfolio, and business objectives. As a member of the broader Product Management team, the Senior Product Manager also serves as a mentor and collaborator, supporting the development of product management best practices, coaching junior team members, and contributing to the evolution of product strategy and operating models.
Sr. Product Manager, Medical Device at Tandem are also responsible for:
- Leads product strategy, planning, and execution across one or more product areas, platforms, or capabilities, spanning both upstream definition and downstream delivery and lifecycle management.
- Owns the definition and communication of multi year product vision, strategy, and roadmap(s), ensuring alignment with company objectives, portfolio strategy, and customer needs.
- Partners with engineering, design, and systems teams to translate market, customer, and business requirements into clear product requirements, prioritization decisions, and release plans.
- Drives upstream product discovery activities, including business cases, market assessment, user research, voice of customer (VOC) collection, unmet needs identification, and opportunity sizing.
- Supports downstream go-to-market execution activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams introducing new products or releases to the market.
- Partners with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Care to support go to market planning, product positioning, training, and ongoing commercial support for in-market products.
- Monitors competitive landscape, market trends, and external constraints, synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations.
- Engages with key external stakeholders (e.g., customers, clinicians, key opinion leaders (KOL)) to inform product direction and maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices.
- Represents the product area internally and externally as needed, including participation in cross functional forums, leadership reviews, conferences, and customer interactions.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and Regulatory requirements.

WHEN & WHERE YOU'LL WORK:This role will be a mix of in-office work at our corporate headquarters in Del Mar, CA and remote work. This position is expected to be in office on an as needed basis
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:- 5+ years related experience in a combination of product management, product development, and/or product planning.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A/B.S.) in related field or combination of equivalent education and applicable work experience.
- Degrees in product management, business administration, economics, mathematics, or related fields will be considered with sufficient career experience in the product management field.
- Direct work experience delivering commercial products and services, ideally in consumer facing medical devices.
- Experience with educating and interacting with physician and other clinical stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge, experience, and track record of success related to product management, strategic planning, and the product development process for regulated medical devices.
- Experience delivering product offerings across integrated systems encompassing hardware and software components; strong knowledge of underlying technologies.
- Understanding of clinical and regulatory processes and requirements as it relates to product development and delivery.
- Ability to distill complex requirements from multiple stakeholders to simple concepts and optimized solutions.
- Ability to communicate with engineering teams and translate to non-technical audiences.
- Deep curiosity combined with excellent problem-solving skills and strong business sense.
- Adept at creating and communicating a clear vision and expectations among team members to effectively align resources to achieve functional area goals.
- Proven ability to operate in a matrixed environment and exert influence across multiple layers of the organization.
- Empathetic toward the emotional, physical, and cognitive demands of living with a chronic condition.
- Exceptional collaborator with clear communication skills and a user-first product mindset.
EXTRA AWESOME:- Experience in the diabetes industry, preferred.
- Degrees in engineering, information technology, data sciences or health sciences disciplines, preferred.
- Master's degree in the same fields listed above and/or an MBA or equivalent, preferred.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting base pay range for this position is
$150k - $175k annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.
