Our Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST) operating unit advances surgical care for spine and cranial conditions through an integrated ecosystem of implants, navigation, robotics, imaging, and planning tools. You will be on the cutting edge of cloud software, data and AI technologies for spine and cranial treatment and intervention. In this global role, you will work with leading surgeons and clinicians along with Medtronic scientists and engineers. From concept to delivery, you will lead cloud software for treatment, surgery and analytics. You will define product strategy, financials (ROI), competitive set, feature priorities, commercial model, roadmap, and value proposition.

You will manage product programs, virtual team performance, set priorities, communicate operational developments and manage stakeholder relations. You will prioritize and / or direct the responsibilities of virtual program team members. You will achieve your goals through the performance of the program team. Your expertise in cloud software, data and AI technologies and their commercialization will be important in influencing and driving internal alignment on strategy and priorities. You will be a leading voice across CST and advocate for adoption and investment in data and AI business models and mindset.

Product Strategy & Upstream Definition
  • Define and drive short- and long-range product strategies for AI-enabled and cloud SaaS solutions
  • Identify and prioritize unmet clinical, operational, and economic needs across surgeons, hospital administrators, and health systems
  • Shape product vision, roadmap, and positioning across the full product lifecycle


Market & Customer Insight
  • Lead market research, segmentation, and competitive analysis across cranial and spine surgery, and AI ecosystems
  • Translate surgeon and market insights into differentiated product requirements and value propositions
  • Evaluate product viability, business cases, and long-term growth opportunities


AI Product Development Partnership
  • Partner with engineering and data science teams to define AI applications, deployment strategies, and data pipelines
  • Ensure alignment between technical capabilities and real-world clinical workflows
  • Influence product specifications, prioritization, and development trade-offs


Go-to-Market & Commercialization
  • Develop upstream marketing strategies that enable successful downstream execution
  • Define core messaging, positioning, and evidence strategy for surgeon and hospital administrator audiences
  • Partner cross-functionally (R&D, clinical, regulatory, commercial) to ensure successful product launches and adoption at scale


Thought Leadership & Stakeholder Influence
  • Act as a subject matter expert across AI-enabled surgical solutions and digital ecosystems
  • Engage with internal leadership and external stakeholders to shape strategy and drive alignment
  • Support strategic partnerships, key accounts, and innovation initiatives


Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in AI / machine learning-driven products and cloud SaaS applications


Nice to Have
  • Experience in product management, upstream marketing, or strategy roles within software, AI, or digital health
  • Strong track record of bringing complex, technical products to market
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, data science, and commercial teams
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, compelling customer value propositions

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. A7 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$133,600.00 - $200,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
