DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a
SeniorPrincipal Project Manager based
onsite at the
Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL.
The selected candidate will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports. Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support of production activities and problems associated with Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Launcher hardware.
- Support Spares, Repairs and Gas Generator group production activities, as applicable, in Cape Canaveral Florida, Sunnyvale California, West Virginia, Washington State, Washington D.C.and various vendors across the country.
- Support the numerous internal and external meetings by providing Subject Matter Expert inputs and verbally participate in discussions regarding hardware status, cost, schedule, and technical topics.
- Support Basis of Estimate (BOE) proposal generation, Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) support for all assigned tasks, Program Management Review (PMR) monthly chart generation and Performance Obligation chart generation.
- Work closely with Operation Program Manager (OPM) to track planned work, project execution, project delays and manufacturing activities.
- Support Schedule Generation, Reviews & Updates.
- Work closely with Global Supply Chain for procurement of spare components and consumable materials to support repairs.
- Support project Reviews & Updates as required to support Earned Value Management (EVM) activities.
- Coordinate Govt Furnished Material (GFM) with SP22 Navy customer, Logistics and Sub-Contractors
- Initiate, monitor and coordinate Intercompany Work Orders (IWO) contracts that are performed by other Northrop Grumman organizations.
- Develop Integrated Product Team (IPT) agenda topics and participate in various customer telecons to discuss and resolve issues of concern.
- Work with Quality Assurance to support resolution of problems and tracking of hardware through the entire life cycle of the workflow.
- Interface with Global Supply Chain (GSC) to support procurement of spares, completion of repairs and build -up of Gas Generators.
- Participate in long term planning activities to support program success.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of project/program management experience or closely related OR Master's with 6 years relevant experience OR PhD with 4 years relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable speaking in a group environment with the customer.
- Proficient in Microsoft office software.
- US citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:- Exposure to Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Navy customer SP22
- Experience includes Military or Civil Servant
- Background working with the Department of Defense (DoD) customer
- Experience working DFAR items, DD1149 and/or Navy contracts
- Cost Account Manager (CAM) Certification with NG or other Govt contracts.
- Logistics experience
- Able to review and understand engineering drawings
- Occasional travel 5 % of the time to California, West Virginia, Georgia, Washington State or Washington D.C.
- Earned Value Management (EVM) experience.
- Current government Secret security clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
