Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Sr. Principal Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located onsite in Melbourne, FL. This is 100% on-site work. No hybrid work is available.
The selected candidate will perform system engineering and integration tasks relating to Product Support IPTs, and represent Product Support in interaction with Design Engineering and IPT support. Prior experience in systems engineering, system design concepts and maintenance of avionic and/or RF Systems, including Communications, Navigation, RADAR, digital and analog systems is required. Candidate shall have knowledge and understanding of design practice and database tools. Candidate shall possess the ability to analyze engineering drawings, parts lists, schematics, wiring diagrams and apply technical expertise to determine the most optimal way to maintain the weapon system.
Essential Functions:
Identify, analyze, quantify and influence logistics requirements to support the weapon system including spares, Support Equipment, technical data, training, facilities, and personnel
Interface with vehicle engineering to influence designs for supportability
Initiate and perform trade studies
Perform detailed maintenance task analysis
Determine overall weapon support system requirements for sustainment

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience OR Master’s Degree in STEM and 6 years of experience OR PhD with 1 year of experience.
Experience with testability, troubleshooting, fault trees and/or FMECA
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated US Government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-502
Familiarity with GEIA-0007 and relational databases
5 years or more of supportability engineering experience
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Active, In scope US Government Top Secret or SCI clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
