Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Practitioner to join our Women's Services team at our Katy Magnet Hospital! This is a full-time, Monday through Friday positionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, Master's Degree in related field preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: - Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Nursing Professional Development (NPD) certification preferred.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:- Two (2) years of nursing experience required.
- Three (3) years of education-related experience required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES- Performs competency management job functions including needs assessment, gap analysis and monitoring of compliance.
- Builds upon competency management functions to include precepting new educators, analysis and management of competencies.
- Develops and disseminates all levels of educational content/programs utilizing various learning methods/domains.
- Uses education design process to plan implement and evaluate educational initiatives to address progress gaps.
- Applies strategies to facilitate professional development based on Nursing Professional Development (NDP) standards of practice.
- Develops interprofessional collaboration with learners and other stakeholders utilizing effective communication.
- Collaborate/initiates Evidence Based Practice (EBP) projects/research/quality improvement projects.
- Identifies and offers strategies to support orientation progression.
- Coaches and provides feedback to preceptors and orientees and assesses orientation progress.
- Monitors the internal and external environments for opportunities and challenges that may affect professional practice gaps.
- Plans for learning, change and professional role competence and growth.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
