Job Summary

Position is responsible for autonomously providing expertise in the process of adult education, instructional design and training that facilitates the promotion of competent and quality patient care. Supports clinical employees in their efforts to acquire knowledge and skills, and their professional development. Typically reports to the campus Manager or Director of Clinical Education and Professional Development.Job Description

We are seeking a Practitioner to join our Women's Services team at our Katy Magnet Hospital! This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, Master's Degree in related field preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Nursing Professional Development (NPD) certification preferred.


Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience required.
  • Three (3) years of education-related experience required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Performs competency management job functions including needs assessment, gap analysis and monitoring of compliance.
  • Builds upon competency management functions to include precepting new educators, analysis and management of competencies.
  • Develops and disseminates all levels of educational content/programs utilizing various learning methods/domains.
  • Uses education design process to plan implement and evaluate educational initiatives to address progress gaps.
  • Applies strategies to facilitate professional development based on Nursing Professional Development (NDP) standards of practice.
  • Develops interprofessional collaboration with learners and other stakeholders utilizing effective communication.
  • Collaborate/initiates Evidence Based Practice (EBP) projects/research/quality improvement projects.
  • Identifies and offers strategies to support orientation progression.
  • Coaches and provides feedback to preceptors and orientees and assesses orientation progress.
  • Monitors the internal and external environments for opportunities and challenges that may affect professional practice gaps.
  • Plans for learning, change and professional role competence and growth.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards of providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and our workforce.
